It’s been a month since my first solo project was released. I worked long and hard on it. I remember feeling like I wasn’t going to be able to do it. Sometimes we can be our own roadblocks. I had so many people encouraging me through this process. At the end of the day I had to make a decision as to whether I was going to sit and make it happen or was I going to let the moment pass me by. I allowed myself to go through a season of isolation. I needed to step away from all the voices, the opinions, the expectations and remind myself that it was just me, my thoughts and a mic. I finally allowed myself to be free and live in the moment. You can have everyone in your life cheering you on, but you still gotta be the one to take them steps onto the track and run. I had some amazing people pushing me to not just be good, but to be great. I drive alone listening to the record and I am proud of not just the music, but for the growth I’ve experienced on this journey. I’m honored at the response I’ve gotten. Can’t wait to give you the official album.
